Sri Sangatan Organises “Atiche Khana” Special Food Sale
The Sri Sangatan (Women’s Association) of Holy Family Church, Brahmavar, organised a special food sale titled “Atiche Khana”, showcasing a variety of delicious and traditional delicacies prepared at home by the women of the association. “Atiche Khana” refers to the special food items traditionally prepared in the coastal region during the rainy season. These seasonal delicacies, prepared with great care and following traditional recipes, are an important part of the rich culinary heritage of the coastal community. The women prepared a variety of homemade delicacies and offered them for sale, enabling the parishioners to enjoy these traditional specialities while also supporting the activities and initiatives of the association.

The parishioners and well-wishers enthusiastically supported the programme and greatly appreciated the efforts of the women. The delicious food items were warmly received and enjoyed by all. The event also provided an opportunity to preserve and promote the traditional food culture of the coastal region.
The Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. John Fernandes, visited the food sale, tasted the delicacies prepared by the women, and highly appreciated their efforts. He congratulated the members of Sri Sangatan for their hard work, creativity, dedication, and team spirit. He also encouraged them to continue organising such meaningful and beneficial programmes for the parish community.

The successful organisation of the “Atiche Khana” food sale was a testimony to the commitment, unity, and dedication of the women of Sri Sangatan. Their tireless efforts in preparing the food, organising the sale, and serving the community deserve sincere appreciation. Through their hard work and initiative, they not only promoted traditional coastal cuisine but also strengthened the spirit of fellowship and cooperation within the parish community.
The programme was a wonderful example of how the women of the parish, through their talents and collective efforts, continue to contribute meaningfully to the life and activities of Holy Family Church.
